It’s May! It’s May!
It all kicks off from here on!
Between the months of April and May
you can almost see the plants growing.
The clematis that looked dead, suddenly
sprouts long tendrils that seek support
from climbing roses. Peonies show their
ruby red young stems which contrast with
the lime green of the first unfurling leaves of delphiniums.
Hedgerows are showered with fresh new green buds
and the fields have a covering of green, the beginning of
natures food basket.
Wisteria’s bare skeleton shows it’s camouflaged
swelling flower buds that promise a waterfall of blue
or white next month.
Sweet gentle Spring fragrances are to be
found if you get close to the bluebells and
cherry blossom.
The first of this months four images is
a solar celebration of May Day. The first of May
has been celebrated throughout time and I hope this picture
encompasses all beliefs of this magical day.
Your home is your castle and you can make it a magical as you like.
This Magic Castle is candy colours, pink and blue and I suppose
very girly!
Marlborough Downs are looking so beautiful now,
I love to drive from Marlborough to Swindon,
pass Rockley and over the Ridgeway.
Stunning, it takes your breath away.
In this image I have mellowed the colours to make it
relaxing and calming to the eye.
Finally in this month is Silbury Hill, a recurring image in my work.
This time in shades of lilac and green.
