Flaming June!
I love this month: the warmth of the sun,
the buzzing of the bees around the abundant flower garden
and the hum of the insects in the wild flower meadow.
As summer flows across the months,
the evening will get warmer and I can light the Kadai
and enjoy the golden flames
whilst drinking a chilled glass of white wine.
What could be better?
What does June mean to me?
Juno, Gemini, time ticking towards mid-summer
and us all worshiping the Sun which is reborn,
leaving memories of the cold, bare Winter far behind.
These are the thoughts I had in mind
as I created the four June Magical Months.
As you can see there is a Roman theme,
with inspirational Roman quotes
and the last image being a homage to
Juno and her peacock…
well, actually his name is Fred,
short for Fredrick Von Vain,
and he is a wild peacock that decided to
squat in my garden with his two hens.
Bizarre.
How long he stays is up to him,
so I treasure my luck and the time I have with them.
I love Juno and her Peacock, I know it has no landscape
but I couldn’t resist once I had started to create it.
I’m really pleased with June Gemini Twins,
try and work out which twin goes with which twin.
Even as twins we are all individuals. Never second.
June Silbury Hill is timeless
but we feel and see time passing.
Use time preciously. Find your way or make one.
And finally, the June Phoenix in the Temple,
rising out of the embers, strong and full of wisdom.
She/He conquers who conquers he/himself.
Get the B-B-Q out, put the beer on ice and let’s toast to summer!
